Expandable Micro Programmable Controller

Toshiba’s T140S offer all of the functionality of the smaller T116S units , but incorporate more I/O on the basic unit , 24 Inputs & 16 Outputs as standard.

These PLCs are an integral part of the Toshiba family & utilize the latest TPDS programming software, programs developed on this unit can easily be transferred to other T series models.

T140S systems can be expanded in 2 ways either by option cards ( which plug in the body of the main unit) or via a fixed expansion module ( 16 In 16 Out)

Advanced applications

Motion control
The T1-40S has two high-speed (5k pps (pulse per second)) counter inputs. The counters are independent of each other and of the CPU scan for counting applications requiring high-speed compare, reset, and strobe. The counters can also work together as a quadrature counter to count a 2-phase pulse encoder signals. While In the quadrature counter mode, it works all the way up to 20,000 cps (counts per second).

The T1-40S also has a pulse output function (5,000 pulses per second max) For generating variable frequency pulse trains, CW, and CCW. Handy for driving a stepper motor or providing a clock. By using these functions together, a good programmer can provide an inexpensive motion control system with just a T1 PLC

PID (Proportional, Integral, and Derivative) control function
Don't be scared off by the name, PID loops are easy with Super T1 PLCs The advanced PID (Proportional, Integral, and Derivative) control function allows optimizing analog feed back loops. Multiple PID loops can be used, limited only by the max allowable I/O. A typical application would be driving a porportionaly controlled heater to keep very accurate tempertures with quick responce times. PID loops can be applied with almost any analog feed back loop including applications as diverse as flow, level, pressure, PH, Humidity etc.

Data Linkage between Super T1 PLCs
Using the RS485 port and the data link mode, two T1-40Ss can exchange data each other (16 words input and 16 words output). The update cycle for the total 32 words is approx. 50ms. No user program required for this data linkage. This is industrial networking on the cheap!?

ASCII Communications
The free ASCII serial comunications allow interfacing with all sorts of Serial devices from RFID systems, barcode readers, fingerprint scanners, printers, scales, intelegent sensors etcl

Motor Speed Drives
The RS485 port can also supports a special mode to exchange data with Toshiba's Inverters (ASDs), (VF series Including NC1, S11, P7,A7,FS1,PS1 and AS1 types). This mode allows the T1-40S to talk to the Inverters without any special communication program so you can easily monitor Operation frequency and status and easily control Run/Stop/Jog, Forward/Reverse, and drive frequency!
